Scoring for the 2008 Midwest Championship will be as follows:

High Point Scoring system. The final placement at the end of each regatta will determine the scoring as follows. Points will be awarded for the number of boats beaten, plus 5 points for attendance, The total will serve as the points awarded for that event for each boat. Example, 1st place at a regatta with 10 boats would get 9 (number of boats beaten) + 5 (particpation) = 14 points awarded. 3rd at the same regatta would get 7 + 5 = 12 points awarded.
The boat with the highest number of points accumulated over 4 regattas will be the winner.
Any boat participating in more than 4 regattas will use the 4 regattas with the most points for scoring purposes.
The scoring will be tracked by sail number. The crew, skipper, hull may change from regatta to regatta.
A boat must be present and start at least one race in order to receive the 5 points for participation. A boat must also start one race in order to count as a boat beaten by the other boats.
